  8. During the month ended July 15, 1,719 new commercial domains were
  9. added to the official InterNIC registry. 141 domains disappeared
  10. leaving a net increase of 1,618 over the previous count of 15,384
  11. on June 15.  As of July 15, 1994 there were 17,002 commercial
  12. domains registered.  This represents a 10.4% monthly growth rate.
  13. This is a slight increase over the previous monthly growth rate of
  14. 9.4%.  One would anticipate a summer slow down but it doesn't
  15. appear to be happening yet.

  17. Most of the companies registering were small hi-tech firms in the
  18. computer, software, biotech and telecommunications industries, but
  19. the use of Internet is extending beyound the hi-tech arena.  The
  20. following is a list of some of the more interesting names.
